Nelson Propane is proud to give back to local organizations in Texas

May 9, 2018

As a proud proponent and supporter of the #ShopLocal movement, Nelson Propane makes it a point to participate, sponsor and give back to other local organizations in the Texas area. We take pride in being a part of our local communities not only providing a local need, but giving back whenever possible.

Here is a list of some of the organizations we support financially and otherwise:

• Navarro College Fundraiser: Over the last decade, The Navarro College Brilliance Scholarship Fundraising Program has financially assisted over 1,140 talented Ellis County students. This year’s 10th Annual Brilliance Gala was held from on April 7th at the Waxahachie Civic Center and aimed to raise another large portion to fund scholarships for Ellis County students.

• NHRA Fall Nationals Race in Ennis: The AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals is the fastest race in Texas and is held at Texas Motorplex every year in Ennis, Texas. The Motorplex is an all-concrete quarter-mile drag racing facility that opened in 1986, becoming the first super-stadium built specifically for drag racing. The Motorplex has hosted national event racing since 1986 and has been the site of record-breaking passes, championship-clinching performances and jaw-dropping events.

• Palace Theater in Corsicana, Texas: Corsicana's Palace Theatre is a 1921 vaudeville house located in downtown Corsicana, Texas. The theatre saw famous acts before changing to a movie house in the 1930’s. In the mid 1990’s the Theatre was saved from demolition and beautifully restored for the community. In February 2002, the Theatre reopened to great fanfare with the musical, Porgy and Bess. Since 2002, many famous faces have graced the stage of the Palace. With the help of generous underwriting and fundraisers, the Palace is able to fulfill its mission to Corsicana and surrounding areas. The Palace seeks to enrich the local community through activities promoting professional arts, and will continue to shine for the new generations.

• Fairfield Young Farmers: They are a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to support the youth in Freestone County involved in agricultural programs. They hold an annual event with numerous raffle items and door prizes along with several guns, hunts, and a bed and breakfast getaway up for auction. All supporting a great cause, the youth in Freestone County.

• Volunteer fire department fund raisers
• Freestone county education foundation
• Cancer foundation

• Spring break
• Go Texan
• Ducks unlimited
